VisionIT is #1 on Crain’s 2008 List of Fastest-Growing Companies

Today, Detroit-headquartered IT staffing, outsourcing and vendor management firm VisionIT, Inc. was ranked number one on Crain’s Detroit Business’ recently published annual list of the fastest-growing companies in the Metro Detroit region. The annual list is a compilation of area businesses ranked by their individual change in revenue from year to year. VisionIT posted 2007 revenues of $107 M, giving the growing IT firm a 373% increase from 2006—the single largest increase of any company on this year’s list.

This marks the first time in VisionIT’s 11-plus year history that it has ranked number one on this list, a significant achievement for any area business.

VisionIT CEO Named 2008 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year

On June 12th, 2008 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dearborn, MI, David H. Segura, CEO of VisionIT, Inc. was named as the 2008 Entrepreneur of The Year ® by Ernst & Young (E&Y) in front of a crowd of about 300 attendees. The 22nd annual event hosted by regional radio personality Paul W. Smith of WJR News/Talk 760 AM, honored eight business leaders of the Central Great Lakes region—comprised of East Michigan and Northwest Ohio—for their vision, innovation, determination and leadership.

Segura took home this year’s award in the E&Y staffing solutions category.

“Words cannot describe how humbled and honored I am to receive this type of recognition for VisionIT,” said Segura. “To be recognized on such a grand stage by such a prestigious organization in Ernst & Young, is truly a great testament to the hard work and shared commitment for excellence of the entire VisionIT team.”

VisionIT Ranks as One of Nation’s Largest Hispanic-Owned Businesses

Detroit-headquartered information technology firm VisionIT was once again listed as one of the nation’s largest Hispanic-owned businesses as part of Hispanic Business magazine’s (HB) HB 500, moving 161 spots in just one year. This is the fifth consecutive year the growing firm has received the distinction as part of this annual list. In addition, out of the 500 largest Hispanic-owned businesses listed, HB found that VisionIT had the largest increase in growth from 2006 to 2007.

Each year, the magazine examines the growth and size of thousands of Hispanic-owned businesses across the nation and compiles a list of the 500 largest. This year VisionIT was ranked 66th.

“This is another great accolade in what has been a phenomenal year for our company,” said David H. Segura, CEO of VisionIT, Inc. “Our continued upward movement on this prestigious list is a direct result of our expansion throughout the U.S.”

The HB 500 rankings are compiled using fiscal year 2007 revenue reporting. VisionIT posted $107.1M in revenue in 2007, which is a 372% growth rate from fiscal year 2006—the single largest annual revenue in the company’s 11-year history.

VisionIT Makes 2008 Crain’s Detroit Business Private 200 List

As continued evidence of its tremendous growth, Detroit-headquartered VisionIT, Inc. was listed as part of this year’s Crain’s Detroit Business Private 200 list, which was released last week. The annual list tracks the 200 largest privately-held companies in Southeast Michigan based on revenue. This is the first year VisionIT has been included as part of this list which ranked them at 142.

In addition, VisionIT was profiled along with a few other select Private 200 companies based upon its tremendous performance over the past year.

VisionIT, Inc. announced that its’ CEO David H. Segura is a finalist for the 2008 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Awards for the Central Great Lakes region. The awards program was developed to recognize entrepreneurs who demonstrate extraordinary success in the areas of innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Segura was selected as a finalist from a pool of several nominations by a panel of independent judges. The winner will be announced at a special gala event on Thursday June 12th, 2008 at the Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn, Michigan.
