Leading Latino business publication, Hispanic Business, released its Hispanic 500 ranking VisionIT number 58 on its annual list of the nation’s leading Hispanic-owned firms. This is the eighth consecutive year that VisionIT has been ranked. In addition, this year’s ranking moves the company up six spots from number 64 in 2009.

“Inclusion on this list is always great news for our firm,” said David H. Segura, VisionIT founder and CEO. “For eight years we have looked to this esteemed list to help us track growth and progress. We look forward to making this list again next year and beyond.”

VisionIT officials project that the company will rank in the top 25 of the Hispanic 500 in 2011 based on its continued growth in the IT marketplace.

VisionIT announced its 2010 participation in Wayne State’s University’s annual Biztech Summer Camp-a premier summer program designed to introduce up to 30 area high school students to higher education and career opportunities in business and technology. Beginning June 21 and ending August 3, Biztech’s classroom instruction centers on business, technology, college preparation and life skills.

As a partner, VisionIT will provide a mentor and internship, giving these students support and essential professional job experience.

“We are proud to continue this longstanding partnership with Wayne State, which greatly benefits our area youth,” said David Segura, VisionIT CEO. “These students will receive true situational experiences that they will face once working full-time in the industry and inspirational guidance from our staff to follow their dreams,” Segura added. “We want them to know that they can overcome any challenge by using wisdom, hard work and determination.”

VisionIT has been one of the programs most active and longest serving partner, dedicating resources every year since the program was established in 2001. In addition to its annual commitment of a mentor and internship, this year the company helped to identify candidates for the program by participating in the student selection process.
