(Detroit, MI)

VisionIT recruiters and human resource professionals participated in a continuing education initiative, earning their Technical Services Certification (TSC) and Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) designations. These certifications are designed to educate and update staffing professionals on current legislation, legal precedents, and related industry best practices. The certifications cover 14 major areas of employment law, including equal opportunity laws, wage and hour statutes, immigration/work authorization protocols, and co-employment considerations.

“Continuing education is critical to the ongoing success of VisionIT. As one of the fastest growing corporations in the U.S., team development is a major component of our delivery strategy. The TSC/CSP certification is an intensive process that truly reinforces the professional credentials of our team, and is a key differentiator among our competitors. I am extremely proud of our team members who made the commitment to complete this training program,” said Dan Van Slambrook, Director of Recruiting Operations at VisionIT.

The certifying body is the American Staffing Association, which requires an extensive examination, as well as mandatory continuing education credits to maintain certification.

VisionIT CEO David H. Segura addressed an audience of faculty and students from the University of Michigan as part of the Distinguished Speaker and Innovator Series provided by the Center of Entrepreneurship, on Friday, November 12, 2010 in Ann Arbor, MI at the Walgreen Drama Center.

David interacted with the students from his alma mater and touched on the VisionIT F.A.S.T model, as well as the amazing story of VisionIT growing from its infancy to one of the fastest growing technology firms in the United States.

“I believe that students learn best from real life experiences, and I was very excited to engage with them and share the details of how we built VisionIT. David’s speech was recorded and can be found online at http://www.cfe.umich.edu/seminar. This year’s speakers also include Alan Mulally, CEO of Ford Motor Company, Dave Barger, CEO of JetBlue Airways, and Dick DeVos, former President of Amway.

(Washington D.C.)

VisionIT’s CEO, David H. Segura was one of 25 people appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Gary Locke to the National Advisory Council on Minority Business Enterprise (Council). This council is newly re-established by the U.S. Government after being dormant for nearly 40 years.

The Council will undertake matters to provide advice and develop recommendations to President Obama through the Secretary of Commerce on a broad range of domestic and international issues that concern minority businesses. These include developing strategies and policies to position minority-owned firms to compete in the global economy, market based criteria and strategies for gaining access to global supply chains of major corporations, expand minority-owned firm participation in emerging industries, eliminate domestic and global barriers to growth, and ultimately achieve economic parity by 2050.

“For the past 14 years, Mr. Segura has been very dedicated to working with Fortune 500 corporations, government, minority business chambers, and fellow minority business owners on supplier diversity initiatives. I am grateful to have his expertise and experiences in domestic and global markets provide wise counsel to Secretary Locke, MBDA, and our country.” said David Hinson, Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) National Director. David Segura shared, “I am very thankful to continue to work with this administration on initiatives that I am personally passionate about in creating significant growth for minority-owned businesses. Implementing these strategies at this time is critical to the on-going success of the United States. Many of the next great innovations will need to develop from the minority business community and reach domestic and global markets.”

David was also appointed by President Obama recently to the Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations.
