Segura was part of an outstanding group that started the 2nd day of the symposium and was introduced by the Chairman of Owens & Minor, Gilmer Minor III. Luke Visconti, CEO of DiversityInc Media was the moderator and also featured Margaret Lewis, President of HCA Capital Division and Akhil Agrawal, President of American Medical Depot. Segura was also a panelist during an afternoon session on the theme “Getting Healthcare Business—The Challenges and Solutions for MBE’s”, which was moderated by Kevin Price, Supplier Diversity Manager at Novant Health.

The HSDS focuses on fostering business growth for diverse organizations with providers in the healthcare industry, raising awareness of the opportunities for supplier diversity in healthcare and works to enhance the development of diversity in organizations working within the healthcare supply chain.

“Minority communities represent the fastest growing, most consistent customer base for healthcare systems. It is extremely important that minority-owned businesses are given the opportunity to participate and become integral to the supply chains of these organizations.” said Segura. “VisionIT has developed many unique solutions that are helping major healthcare systems better deliver technology within their operations through our core areas of IT consulting/managed services, IT staffing, and vendor management.”
