VisionIT Named as Urban Wheel Awards 2012 Supplier of the Year Finalist

VisionIT was announced as the winner of the Hispanic Supplier of the Year and one of three finalists for the overall 2012 Supplier of the Year Award during the Urban Wheel Awards. The Urban Wheel Awards was named the Official Multicultural Event of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) by the 2012 NAIAS Executive Committee.

The event will be held on Sunday January 8, 2012 at the Sound Board Theater, MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan. The finalists of the 2012 Supplier of the Year awards are being honored for demonstrating an unprecedented record of quality, growth, and service to the automobile industry.

“VisionIT is honored to be recognized by the Urban Wheel Awards” said Segura. “VisionIT’s roots are in Detroit and in the automotive industry in which we learned how to deliver our services globally by having the top people in our industry operate with streamlined efficiency and cost competitiveness.”

The Annual Urban Wheel Awards is the nation’s only award show bringing together celebrities, automotive executives, international media, government representatives, and the multicultural community to celebrate inclusion in the automotive industry.

The awards are a daylong event expected to attract nearly 2,500 movers and shakers in the automobile industry as well as auto enthusiasts from across the country. The festivities begin at 2:00 p.m. with a vehicle exhibit, followed by a reception at 4:00 p.m. in honor of William “Bill” Perkins, the first African-American chairman of the NAIAS. The celebrity Green Carpet and VIP reception will be held at 5:30 p.m., followed by the awards show from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and the evening will conclude with an afterglow reception from 9:00 – 11:00 p.m.

In addition to the Supplier of the Year award category, the Dealer of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Car/Truck and Green Vehicle of the Year, and a Lifetime Achievement award to Warren Brown, an auto writer for the Washington Post, will be among those presented.

VisionIT Expanding Executive Leadership, names Amy Courter as CIO

VisionIT Wins 2011 Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council Supplier of the Year

VisionIT was the recipient of the 2011 Supplier of the Year award at the 28th Annual Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC) Awards Dinner. This is the second time in three years that VisionIT has been honored with the prestigious award and the third time since 2001. This year, VisionIT won the top honor in the largest minority business category (revenues greater than $50 million).

Last year VisionIT generated $230 million in revenue, and was recognized as one of the fastest growing companies headquartered in the State of Michigan. To win the nomination based award a minority-owned business is nominated by a corporate member of MMSDC. The minority business must demonstrate outstanding service delivery for member corporations, innovation in its solutions, significant spend with other minority-owned businesses, corporate HR diversity initiatives, and long-term community activity. The award scoring is tabulated by well known consulting firm PWC.
