VisionIT President Christine Rice was invited to the WDET 101.9 FM studios on July 31 – resulting from her recent selection as one of DBusiness Magazine’s “Powered by Women” – to share how she and other women have played key roles in businesses. R.J. King, author of the “Powered by Women” feature, which highlighted top female leaders in Detroit, also participated in the segment.
In the interview, Rice emphasizes the importance of fostering diversity in the workforce to embrace the differing experiences, viewpoints and cultures necessary to build a thriving business. She describes VisionIT’s focus on offering diverse candidates opportunities to excel, and therefore do more for the economy, stating, “You can’t do great things without great people, and they come in all shapes, sizes and sexes.”
Throughout her 15 years with VisionIT, Rice has played a key role in laying the roadmap for the company, concentrating on its long-term consultative approach in global IT and overseeing tremendous growth. Under her leadership, VisionIT manages 975 internal employees and 3,500 global contractors, generating $245 million in revenue.
DBusiness’ cover feature “Powered by Women” identifies and recognizes female business leaders in metro Detroit who are moving their respective companies, industries and organizations forward to honor them for their hard work and commitment to their professions.
