VisionIT President, Christine Rice, delivered the keynote address at Wayne State University’s second annual College to Career (C2C) Undergraduate and Graduate Latino/a Studies Research Conference held on May 5, 2011 at the WSU Student Center Building.
The C2C program is focused on increasing graduation rates for students at WSU by connecting Chicano- Boricua Studies Scholars with established professionals. The program uses a multifaceted approach, combining career mentorship, community-based research and service-learning with professional development and graduate school preparedness, which helps to bridge the gap between the academic and professional worlds.
This conference showcased the university’s best undergraduate and graduate research projects with a focus on Latino/ Latin American Studies. It also allowed student researchers to share their work through panel and poster presentations.
